Mahindra Auto ended February 2025 Sales on a strong note. The company recorded a 19% year-on-year (YoY) growth in SUV sales. Compared to February 2024’s 42,401 units, Mahindra sold 50,420 SUVs this year. This led to a volume increase of 8,019 units. Year-to-date (YTD) sales for FY25 reached 5,03,439 units, marking a 20% growth over 4,19,233 units in FY24.

SUV-Driven Success

Mahindra’s passenger vehicle (PV) lineup is now entirely SUV-focused. No cars or vans were sold in February 2025, reinforcing Mahindra’s identity as an SUV manufacturer. The Marazzo remains listed on the official website despite previous delistings. The company’s SUV demand remains high, especially for models like the BE 6, XEV 9e, XUV700, and Scorpio.

Month-on-Month Sales Performance

Compared to January 2025’s 50,659 units, Mahindra February 2025 sales declined slightly by 0.41%. This decrease of just 239 units is negligible. Despite this, demand for Mahindra SUVs remains strong. Production ramp-up continues to meet market demand across different segments.

Commercial Vehicle and Export Performance

Mahindra’s commercial vehicle (CV) division sold 30,221 units in February 2025. Breaking down the numbers:

  • LCV <2T: 3,290 units (-21% YoY)
  • LCV 2T – 3.5T: 19,155 units (+9% YoY)
  • LCV >3.5T & MHCV: 1,381 units (+23% YoY)
  • Three-wheelers: 6,395 units (+4% YoY)

Exports surged, with 3,061 units shipped in February 2025. This marked a 99% YoY growth over the 1,539 units exported in February 2024. YTD exports for FY25 reached 30,566 units, reflecting a 32% growth over last year’s 23,090 units.

Company’s Official Statement

Veejay Nakra, President of the Automotive Division at M&M Ltd., stated, “In February, we clocked SUV sales of 50,420, achieving a 19% growth. Our total vehicle sales reached 83,702 units, reflecting a 15% increase. This strong performance is driven by positive momentum across our SUV portfolio.”

Mahindra’s future plans include launching the XUV 3XO-based compact electric SUV to compete with the Tata Punch EV. Additionally, the upcoming XEV 7e, derived from the XUV.e8 concept, will sit below the XEV 9e. Leaked reports suggest a three-row SUV with over 500 km of range per charge. Mahindra’s robust lineup and strategic growth ensure continued dominance in India’s SUV market.
